Airports and schools watching for Isaac

With Isaac looming in the Caribbean, there is some important information to pass along if you are planning on traveling or going to school.
Isaac's path has already kept some planes on the tarmac. So far, there have been 11 cancelations in and out of Miami International Airport. Flights heading to and from the Dominican Republic, St. Croix and St. Maarten are among those affected. Many airlines are allowing customers to change their travel plans without penalties.
There are also cruise concerns across the Caribbean. Carnival Cruise has changed the ports of call for two ships. The Carnival Liberty will now visit Nassau before returning to Miami on Saturday, a day earlier than previously scheduled. Carnival Valor will also return to Port Miami on Saturday. Those passengers will visit Nassau instead of Curacao.
Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Lines are monitoring the storm but have yet to alter any itineraries.
Parents are also wondering whether school will be in session Monday. Miami-Dade's superintendent addressed those concerns Thursday. "I think, by Friday, we will make an announcement regarding the eventuality of possible closures," said Alberto Carvalho. "It seems that we're safe for the remainder of this week, but we'll certainly continue to monitor the situation."
While Miami-Dade expect to make an announcement tomorrow, Broward and Monroe County schools have not made any decisions regarding possible closures. When and if we get word on those decisions we'll pass them along to you.
