New Features for iPhone 5

While Apple has been reluctant in the past to radically alter its smartphone, the new iPhone 5 has several significant design changes.
1. The new phone is longer and the screen is now a 4-inch display with a 16:9 aspect ratio that is good for watching movies. The phone is also lighter and thinner.
2. Apple replaced the 30-pin connector that is used for recharging the phone with a more compact connector. It is selling adapters for $30 and $40 to fit the device to charging docks and speakers designed for older iPhones.
3. The iPhone earbud headphones have been redesigned and renamed EarPods.
4. Siri can now make restaurant reservations. Or it may just be a new source of hilarity.
5. The phone will work on the latest generation of wireless high-speed data network, LTE.
6. The iPod Touch, which resembles the iPhone, will come in five colors. The iPhone, however, is available only in black and white.
7. Apple did not change the pricing of phones sold with a two-year carrier contract. The latest iPhone will be $200, $300 and $400, depending on the size of its internal storage. The 4S will be $100 and the iPhone 4 will be free.
