The tragic
incident that occurred at the midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises in
Aurora, Colo., has hit all of our hearts, especially the actors from the flick.
We've heard
what Gary Oldman and director Christopher Nolan had to say, and now Anne
Hathaway and Christian Bale have spoken out about the horrendous event that
took 12 lives.

"My
heart aches and breaks for the lives taken and altered by this unfathomably
senseless act," Hathaway, who plays Catwoman/Selina Kyle in Dark Knight
Rises, said in a statement Saturday to E! News. "I am at a loss for words
how to express my sorrow. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and
their families."
Bale, star
of the action film, issued his own statement on Saturday, declaring,
"Words cannot express the horror that I feel. I cannot begin to truly
understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart
goes out to them."

a.m. Friday, 24-year-old James Holmes allegedly walked into the midnight
showing of Dark Knight Risesin Theater 9 at the Century 16 movie complex in
Aurora, carrying gas canisters, an AR-15 assault rifle, a shotgun and at least
one .40-caliber Glock handgun. Holmes surrendered himself to police after the
shooting and was booked on Friday afternoon.
Authorities
say he wore protective body armor and a gas mask. Holmes triggered two
canisters and opened fire with the rifle, killing 12 and injuring 58 people,
making this the biggest mass shooting in U.S. history, according to available
data.
